Cord-Michael Becker Prize
The Cord-Michael Becker Prize, worth 5,000 euros, was introduced in 2013, and is open to researchers throughout Germany in recognition of an outstanding academic doctoral thesis in the area of molecular medicine. The prize is named after Prof. Dr. Cord-Michael Becker, who was the Chair of the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg for many years and was responsible for introducing the degree program in molecular medicine to Erlangen. Since then, a number of faculties of medicine throughout Germany and universities abroad have introduced degree programs in molecular medicine, based on Prof. Becker’s concept.
